Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 I have a question, I am second guessing myself for planning to bring my boars and extra females to the Animal Rescue League of Boston. Although they say they feed them vegetables, ask about backgrounds and have people bring in a photo of the cage the animal will live in - I am becoming so worried about not knowing what will happen to the babies! I have been typing up a care sheet, thinking I will ask the Rescue league to send it home with the new owner, but how do I know they will? My question is....should I just wait and separate any male/males and try to find a home from this site? Or would bringing them to the Animal Rescue League not be such a bad choice? Any advice will be helpful. Also, I tried to register on Guinea Pig Homes, and it rejected my email address??? So I have posted here for adoption. |

If you can, I would rehome them yourself. That way you know where they are going, and it allows the rescue to use the limited resources to help additional pigs. |

Taking them to a shelter/rescue should be a very last resort measure. You should always attempt to rehome yourself first. There are many ways you can find them a new home. You can post an ad here (which you did), post an ad on petfinder.com, craigslist, your local newspaper, guinealynx.info and GPH. Not sure why GPH rejected your email address. I am an admin/mod there too as it's our sister site but CavySpirit would have to answer the question of why your email was rejected as I have no clue. I also hope you are planning on asking an adoption fee. That's important. If you have same sex pups, make sure to rehome them as a pair if you can. Especially to someone who has no pigs at all. |

Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Yes - will ask for payment for my piggies - like $25 to $35? Yes - will try to re home same sex pups together - this is another reason why I was worried about the rescue league...I have no control that way. |

$25-$35 is fine. You can always lower the fee after you meet someone who you think will be a great owner too. |

I have decided to find homes for my babies myself. This way, I can stop being worried and stressed out about their fate. Hopefully I will have luck on this forum. |

Some rescues will do a courtesy listing on their site for folks trying to rehome. You might ask them if they do that. They remain in your care/control but get exposure on the rescues web site. |
