No The lady never emailed me back. I left her 4 emails and she hasn't gotten back and I am banned from the store. SO I don't know whats going on. i am So mad at the lady and My self. I thought i did enough to make sure they where going to a good home.

That's what I was thinking. Have the friend that saw them in the store go buy them back, then she can give them to you.

Not sure I understand how it would be lucrative for someone to pay $45 for two pigs and sell them to a pet store, but I think you should spend the extra $20 and get them back. Chalk it up t a lesson learned.

A pet store is not going to do a rigorous screening so just wait until the person you spoke to is not there and pay in cash, if they somehow have your info on record. Or, as others suggested, have your friend (the one that noticed them) get them out of there and reimburse her.

The one thing that anyone needing to rehome may want to think about is drawing up an adoption contract. Even if you are doing a one time adoption. If the person is not willing to sign the contract, then they would not be allowed to adopt.

Here is a sample of something that could be typed up, you could modify it however you'd like.

Adoption Contract

Email:

Do you have other cavies in your home? yes no
I will provide a proper C&C cage for this/these cavies _____

I will provide vet care for this/these cavies _____
I will not breed this/these cavies _____
If for any reason I cannot provide the proper care for this/these cavies, I will return them to the original owner as stated in the top of this contract _____
I understand that the original owner can do home checks to be assured this/these cavies are being taken care of properly _____ (This line would be optional if you want to do home checks)

(Have the adopter initial each blank.)

Make sure that you have two copies and give one to the adopter and keep one for your own personal records. It would also be a good idea to attach photos (front, side and back if possible) of each pig to the contract also.

In the event of something like this situation happening, you would have paperwork and photos to back up any claims made.

If you wanted a more in depth or detailed contract then you could most likely get ahold of any reputable cavy rescue and ask for a copy of their adoption contract and explain why you'd like to have it. Then you could use that as a guideline for your own.

That may not have been in her kid. Some people show up with kids to make themselves look better and give them your pet.

I doubt she is going to reply to your email honestly and do what you wish.

I'd definitely get your guinea pigs back even if you have to send a friend.

She's not going to give you back your pigs! If you can give her $45, why can't you give the store $65 and just get them back?! You were lucky enough to find out they were there-sort of like you and the piggies were given a second chance-so take it! Don't let them suffer!

Well We took a trip to the pet store today. different person was working, So my friend asked questions, and so forth To find out they are not there no more that they where bought by someone Early this morning, The pet store can not give out information on who they where bought by. But now I feel REALLY horrible!

I know I feel like I didn't do my job. Like I let them down. I now hope and pray that a Real Cavy Slave bought them to give them a new wonderful home.
