Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 So Yesterday I found a female pig for $15 about 45-60 minutes away. Here is the ad. Female Guinea Pig I still need to talk to my parents but forever I have told them that she absolutely needs a friend otherwise she won't be the happiest she could be. They are kinda loosening up, I think. I only have like $5 right now but will be getting a lot more soon. In the ad she comes with the cage! She is in a C&C so I guess I get the whole thing!! Hi! I am interested in your guinea pig. I have a female also, in a C&C cage. Do you mind if I ask a couple of questions? Are you positive she is a girl? What hay/pellets do you feed her? Are her teeth aligned properly? Are her eyes/nose/ears/ coat looking healthy? Has she ever been to the vet? Why? You are absolutely NOT a breeder? I live about 45-55 minutes away from you. Would this be a problem? What is the size of her cage now? Then just some questions about her... What's her name? Age? Breed? Would she bond with others or is she very dominant? If she and my girl do not get along then I will be able to make two 2x3 cages, so she will not be surrendered. Thanks for all the questions! I would love to meet her. Do you have any more pictures you could send of her/her cage. Thanks so much!! What others should I ask or not ask? Thanks so much!! |

She is! I have fallen in love with her! I don't know what to do to convince my parents anymore though. They think she is perfectly happy, but I told them we have nothing to compare her happiness too, since she has never lived with another pig. |

I would limit your questions at first. Just ask if she could tell you more about the guinea pig and tell her you have another female you would like to introduce to her. See what she emails back with, and then go from there. You should make it clear if you will be able to get her or if you need the other person to help with transportation. She's a cutie-I hope you get her! |

Ok! I thought that I might be asking to many questions. If I take my pig to meet hers wouldn't that break quarintine? How would I go from there with quarintine? I think if I took mine to meet hers we would get her then since it is almost an hour away! I showed my dad and he thought she was really cute! |

Aww I'm so happy for you! Sounds like you got a good handle on what to ask. As for your parents I would just tell them that you will be responsible for both of them. Financially, keep their cage clean, keeping your room clean, do extra chores around the house and save up your money. Be respectful to your parents, work hard when you are in school and show them you are mature enough to take care of 2. They live a long time 5-7 years even 10 or more so tell them about your plans for their future care and reasure them that they wont have to be responsible for them. Good luck! |

Wow, she is really a very cute piggy. As far as quarantine, yes, you need to quarantine for the saftey and health of both pigs. I know you'd like for them to meet, but the reason for quantine outweighs it. Good Luck to you! |

Yes, it would be best to get the new pig, quarantine for three weeks, then introduce them. |
