Looking for 1 or 2 babies in WNY Buffalo area

Would like one or two guinea pig babies. Would like at least one to be a long-haired, but not too picky. Please let me know if you know of a source. I do not want to go to a pet store if possible.

Have you tried petfinder.com and guineapighome.com ?

There is a rescue list and placement forum at guinealynx.info too

Yes, please stay firm and don't go to a pet store. With a bit of patience, networking and creativity everyone can adopt.

Quoting some resources I recently posted:

If you're unsure about a private listing, feel free to link it here and we can check it out for you!
There's also a Rescue List on Guinea Lynx. And on Petfinder make sure you check the regular search as well as a search of the local listings!

If you're having trouble, reach out. There are people on this forum and others that may be able to help transport. Contact rescues and shelters and ask if anyone can help too. Good luck!

Re: Looking for 1 or 2 babies in WNY Buffalo area

Not sure if my reply posted. Thanks to all, but I've checked all of those links above and got nothing. Called the SPCA and talked to them at length. The lady that I spoke with did not think well of the local pet store and sympathized, said to keep calling. Checked all of the local papers, craigslist, petfinder, those links above, nothing. At this point, I've located no guinea pigs unless I go to a breeder 2 hours away (or the pet store).

Re: Looking for 1 or 2 babies in WNY Buffalo area

Just stay patient. Please do not go to the breeder. It may take a while, but it is more worth it than you know at this point. It took several months to find my first pair to adopt. But what's several months when you're saving lives? Did you see this thread on guinea lynx? They are in the WNY area.
