Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Time and money are preventing me from giving my two guinea girls the spoiling they deserve. I have had to face the fact that they need a new home, though I am sad about it. I have a large supply of KM pellets and high-quality hay that I hope someone can purchase from me when they take the piggies, to help me out financially, if possible. Thanks.Oh, and I don't have internet at home, so please be patient if it takes me a while to respond to anyone who messages me. |

The girls are in a new place, with more room than I was able to give them. So that's a good thing. Hopefully they will be properly spoiled now! I will miss watching them in our living room. No one greets me when I come in the house now...sigh... |

Thanks, wigglesgiggles1, it was a hard decision. I always feel when I own a pet that I am responsible to give it a high quality of life, and I felt like I wasn't doing that for the piggie girls. Others were saying "They're just guinea pigs. I wouldn't have those things in my living room! They are so messy...just get rid of them so you don't have to deal with their mess." The "mess" did require a lot of time. The last month or two there were a couple times I went almost 48 hours before I found the time to clean their poops off the fleece. I thought that was no way for the sweet girls to live (though they didn't seem to mind as they popcorned in the poo--ha ha). As summer came, we had less and less time for lap time. The money factor kicked in when they cut hours/pay on everyone where my hubby works, and then our washing machine started going out (which made it harder to keep up with cleening the fleece). Anyway, I'm rambling...I'm just glad the girls will have their needs met on a higher level now. I may still linger around this site some in case our situation changes a few years down the road. Thanks to everyone for the kind help and info I've received on this site over the last 7 months! |

Doing something like that is never an easy decision. We can never anticipate what situations life will throw at us. You were acting in the best interest of your pigs which is never a bad thing, however hard a decision about it might be. I hope you do stick around. People always need input from experienced piggy owners, especially those who are new to cavies. |
