Hello everyone, I am a volunteer for the San Antonio Animal Care and Control. A male guinea pig along with 2 rabbits were surrendered today.
The male guinea pig is a calico teddy and has not been neutered but they will neuter him for $50. His adoption fee is just $10 and he comes with all of his supplies that he was surrendered with (Cage- good for a litterbox for your C&C, Water bottle, and Hartz food ). I have handled him and he is a very sweet boy. I wish I could take him home, but I have three females and cannot afford the neutering right now....or else he would already have a home. I was intially told that the guinea pig was a female, and was actually planning on taking it home, but after inspection, I found that the pigger was very much a male, so I crossed out the "female" on his card and wrote "MALE".
There is one male and one female rabbit (the female is most likely pregant) being kept together. The male is very protective of the female. I do not think they were handled very much, most likey used soley as breeders for someone. They are very beatiful and soft.
When they came in, neither the rabbits nor the guinea pig had hay. I am checking on them frequently to make sure they have hay.
You can call ACS at (210) 207-4PET Or stop by to take a peek at them! They need a good home!!
Here are some pictures of them from my phone:
