I have a friend that really wants guinea pigs. She lives in Saint Louis MO. She would like females only please. She would like it if it came with the cage but if it doesnt it is okay. |

I'm not sure what cities are close to Saint Louis, but tell her to go on petfinder.com and search for female guinea pigs in her town. Here's a link Also tell her to check out Craigslist.com in her city for guinea pigs. There are usually always guinea pigs for sale on there. Just keep checking. Try the local shelter where she lives to find piggies also. I'd recommend getting two, pigs love having friends. |

She does want to get two. She has been checking craigslist but none of them come with a cage and she is kind of on a budget. I told her about C&C cages and she might order a pre-made one if she finds some guinea pigs. |

That's good to hear, I'm glad. Hmm, well if she can save up enough for the C&C that's great. If she hasn't already, search here to find out where people have found their coroplast and cubes in their cities. Sometimes it can be cheaper to go buy the materials rather than ordering, but it just depends. |

Please, please, please tell her to get two! Guinea pigs are herding animals and do much better and are happier and healthier when they have at least another cage mate. Guinea pigs without a cage mate will get depressed and not be the same with another piggie it's own gender. I would search on Petfinder.com to see if they're any GP's you can adopt from any local shelters. Good luck and tell you friend to never buy guinea pigs from pet stores since they are often mix-sexed and are unhealthy. (Most are from mills) If they're no guinea pigs on petfinder that you could adopt, try Craigslist... somebody might not be able to keep their piggie anymore etc. and may be giving it away for a cheap price. Please consider building your GP a C&C...this site tells you where you can buy the cubes and choroplast and how to make the cage, what cage size you would need etc. Guinea pigs are fairly big rodents, therefore they need a lot of space to feel comfortable and do run around and popcorn. |

Trust me, I have told her many times the dangers of petstores. I just adopeted two females that needed good homes from craigslist. She doesn't have enough time to build a cage so she is going to order one if she can't find one. The reason I posted on here is because we have already looked on craigslist and petfinder many times and there are some guinea pigs but none of them have a c&c cage with them, and like I said before she is on a budget. Oh and she said that she definatly will get two piggers. |
