I live in the Nashville, Hermitage Tn area and the closest rescue I can find is in Knoxville. None of the shelters around here list guinea pigs. Anyone in this area know of a shelter or rescue that I am not finding?       |

RePets Animal Rescue is in Bowling Green, which is only about an hour from Nashville I think? Its much closer than Knoxville in any case.  RePets Animal Rescue |

Yeah, it's quite a drive. More like an hour and a half. I would have to mapquest it. I'm not looking now as I have two lovely girls. I'm looking for future reference and such. |

I drove about 1.5 hours to get my second guinea pig, but I was lucky enough to find my first guinea pig in the local humane society. When you do start looking more aggressively you could give your name & phone # to your local humane societies so they can call you if someone does come in to drop off a guinea pig. |

I found the rescue from which we got our piggies on Craigslist. I live in a smaller metro area than you do and can find about 5 piggies a week being given up on Craigslist. |

It's worth contacting the rescues that are farther away. They might be willing to help you out with transportation. |

Also might be worthwhile to place WANTED ads on craigslist and kijiji (you can state that you are not interested in adopting piggies that have been intentionally bred). And, I agree with Akstrohm: rescues may be able to help get the piggies to you. Best wishes with your search. |
