I am looking to adopt a buddy for my guinea pig Sam. He lives in a 5.5 x 6 cage with a 1.5 x 4.5 loft. He really enjoys running around and I would love for him to share this experience with another piggy. The only shelter in my area has no guinea pigs and I can't find another shelter or rescue. I live in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Please help me find another shelter. The pig also has to be male due to Sam being male.       |

I know New Brunswich borders Maine. Correct? You were looking for possibly another skinny, weren't you? The LPA Adoption place that AH36 posted has a skinny pig on their site named Wookie. Hilarious name for a hairless piggie! |

I love that pig! Too bad Toronto is about 4 hours away by car. And it doesn't matter if it is a skinny pr not, as long as it doesn't have much hair. In example: hairless or nearly hairless. My mom has allergies so thats why I can't get a peruvian, my all time favourite breed. Are there any shelters in Fredericton? Anyone live there that can help me? I'm going in a few days so I was wondering if there was a shelter. |

Why not see if there are any towns near there? craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums craigslist: canada classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events |

I hope no one buys the Skinnys at the pet store. That would be so good if they weren't sold! I might even call one Wookie! |

I've been searching and searching for your new piggy's buddy and i've found a few on Petfinder.com. Now that website usually only lists shelters in America and only some in canada. You should try it. Here's a search I did on Maine, USA (close to you): Guinea Pig, Auburn, ME: Adoptable Pets: Petfinder You can do your own search too. I found my piggy Dory 3 weeks ago through petfinder. |

Oh, and if you want to do a search for your area on Petfinder.com, you have to type in these exact words: "Saint John, NB" where it says location. It'll show you the closest adoptible pets to your area in their database. |

Well my parents don't think driving all that way for a guinea pig is a good idea. We would still have to pay for all the gas that it takes to get there and back. From Saint John to Oromocto, is about a 2 hour drive. From Saint John to Maine, would take a little longer. I'll just have to wait until the next time we go to Bangor.(That my be a few years ) |
