I've looked on the different sites that are linked in places on this forum, but I can't seem to find any near NW Arkansas. Not that I'm ready to adopt right now, but I'd like to have an idea where I could find one in my area, so I could look into it. Anyone know of any?       |

Are you near Fayetteville? I've heard there are shelters there. Here in Arkansas, shelters for pigs specifically are few and far between. But pigs can be found if you look hard enough. I got most of mine from ads in the paper or through other members of here and gl. |

I don't live in AK, but I found my fourth guinea pig by calling local shelters to see if they had any. There were none listed on petfinder, but the SPCA not far from us had several. So it never hurts to call. |

Wow, I didn't realize you lived near me Ly&Pigs. Anyway, I'm kind of planning to do a random act of kindness type of thing- someday, I'm going to adopt a 4th sow. I have plenty of space for another one right now, but I haven't had my piggies for long and it would be too much change, for me and the pigs (and my parents). Just thought I'd scout around and figure out where to adopt from. |

To ammend what I said before, it might be a while before me, my parents, or my pigs are ready for a 4th furry friend. I'd rather get to know the shelters in my area, perhaps even work in them. |

I am also from NW Arkansas, and I haven't found any guinea pig rescue groups anywhere near here. I was looking to adopt from there. But I found piggies that needed me from a freecycle group. You can also look on craigslist. Alot of times kids get them and then don't want them and they are posted on there. Just a few suggestions. But if anyone hears of a rescue in this area I would love to know. |
