Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
I may be adopting a 1 yr old long haired male (she is positive it's a male, but I will definitely check). I will be quarantining, and treating with ivermectin, but Should I also shampoo him as well? I have Nizoral (anti-fungal shampoo) and an oatmeal shampoo that I use on my other 3 boys. Any other suggestions? Thanks! |

There is no need to shampoo him, unless he is really stinky. If you do, make sure you use a small animal shampoo, other shampoos will overly dry out their skin..I have no idea what oatmeal shampoo is. I would just give him the ivermectin and ditch the bath. I wouldn't give him that fungal shampoo either. Unless, does he have ringworm or something? |

I don't know much about his condition yet- trying to find out and the current owner only wants to talk via email. I will skip the bath unless he needs it and treat right away with iver. I haven't heard a reply back from her yet... |

Her classified describes him as long haired with colors ranging from white to tan to dark brown (sounds cute!) and that all food, cage and bedding will go with him. I wanted to pick him up today but she said it wasn't a good day for her, maybe tomorrow. I asked how old and if she had seen him scratching or sneezing... she hasn't replied to that last email, hope I didn't scare her off, I just wanted to be prepared. And the wait for the reply continues.... |
