WANTED: Advice for introducing piggies to each other

I have two guinea pigs - a female at school (I'm a teacher) and a male at home. After careful consideration and finding information, I've decided both can use a companion. I found a couple piggies on Craig's List that I wanted to 'adopt.' I have read that male pigs can have trouble getting along and females get along much better. How do I introduce them to each other? What do I do to ensure they get along better? Any advice would be helpful.

P.S. I have learned so much from this site and I love it! Because of this site both of my piggies (at home & at school) have a C & C cage. My piggy at home has a second level and soon will my piggy at school.

It's a myth boys fight with boys. It depends on there own personality. Girl can fight just like males.

Introduce on nuetral territory. A place they've never been before.

Add two of eerything. Well more like 4 hideys prefferably with more than one exit. Add two piles of hay and veggies. And two water bottles.

Clean out their cages completly. Scrub everything with vinagar and water. Wash everything fleece, and if there are wood hideys that have already been used, don't put them in just yet.

Make sure that before you introduce you quarantine each pig for three weeks in a seperate cage in a seperate room.

Well the advice given on intros is pretty much complete.

Anyway, I read on this website that often, GPs on Craigslist are actually from breeders, even though that isn't allowed. Is there a rescue near you? I think that may be a better choice.

See that page for more advice on introductions! Good luck!
