URGENT! 4 pigs in New Rochelle, NY need help tonight!

I've got to stop looking on craigslist, but I keep hoping that since I can't save all of the unwanted guinea pigs that someone here will be able to.

I'm going to be sick No phone number, no email address. There's no way that I can get to the city tonight at 9pm. Especially if this unstable looney is a no show! So someone nearby, can you check up on these guys?

I'm posting one last time for the guiena pigs. I know some of you will post telling me how cruel I am but who cares so dont bother because after this last post I wont be back here to read them.
I have 4 pigs, parents and the 2 kids. I was told when i bought them they wew both females. Anyway, due to money problems I cant buy food for them cause I have kids I have to feed first. I know the pet shop would take them but no way to get them there. I've gotten a few responses here but if they only wanted a baby I would ask them since they getting the babys for free if they would take the others to the pet shop. Guess that was asking too much so I never replied.
During the night one of the babies died and I believe its because all they really been eating is apples and tomatoes for a few wks.
One choise I have now is to post here that I will be leaving them in New Rochelle in a box on the corner of Madeline Ave and St. John's Pl. with the hopes that someone will come and take them. I will leave them out there at 9pm. Thank in advance if your the one to take them. Parents are skiddish but the babies have been handled since they were born so they are very sweet and they will lick you.

Omg. This is disgusting. Too disgusting for words. I dont even know what to say. This person NEEDS to be jailed. I wish this would be a lawfull crime. This way you could report it to the police and catch her in action. I dont see why it can't be, there are even proven studies how you treat and respect animals is how you treat and respect species of your own. This story is a shamefull reminder of petstores, and their support of impulse buyers..if pet stores cared about their animals they would have more sence to make sure they are going to a good home. But of course they would never do that. Not to mention, they arn't even educated enough to correctly sex them, yet they are allowed to handle them, and sell them..they have complete control of the destiny these little guys go, yet don't even know a thing about them.

Ha! Someone should call the police. Threaten her to not leave. If she does they could charge her for running away from the police. Ohh..that would never work.

This is so terriable. This is going on all over the place especially in my area. UGH..I hope that if you contact CList.they can track somehow for the police whose email account posted the post, then they can find who dumped the pigs and jail them.
I deffiantly think thats against the law, right? If it isnt it should be.
Why couldnt they just do like everyone does to me, and just take them to a rescue, and drop them off? I mean I know its just as bad, but if they go to someones house that loves piggies they will be sure to find them a home like I always do.
OH Im so glad you found this thread...Let me know if anyone gets them so I can thank them and send them any supplies they may need for doing a good deed. I hope this wasnt a cruel prank or a sicko.
OH be careful..Pepperspray is a good thing to take in case.

I'm going to check CL again today. There was someone who posted to her on CL telling her not to dump them and to contact her and she would make arrangements to pick up the pigs. But this sicko said she wouldn't be checking CL again and is just dumping them, so I'm not sure if she even saw that post.

Unfortunately I'm in CT and I wouldn't have been able to get there, but I sure was tempted! It's not too far of a drive for me if I was dealing with a sane person with contact info and would be willing to hold them until the weekend, but too far of a drive for me to get there for 9pm to wait on a street corner for a loon who may or may not really show up.

I so hope someone good found them and knocked some sense into this crazy person. If you can't feed your children then what in the world makes you think that you should get a defenseless animal?? I gave my piggies some extra lovin' when I got home after work. This has bugged me all night!

I hear you, I was up all night to checking constantly to see if anyone got them safe and sound. I can honestly say I didnt sleep all night and well, Im still up. Took a cat nap during the day. I let things bother me to much I suppose, but when it involves my pigs or pigs in genral then I get really mad and defensive. I hope someone updates this site if they got them. UGH..Let me know if anyone got them.

I hope if this ad was true and this person did leave those babies on the side of the road that someone found them and took them to safety. Some people are truly heartless. I love how they say they have no other choice. I find it hard to believe that the general vicinity around New Rochelle is completely devoid of a Humane Society or even a veterinary clinic. How difficult would it be for this person to go to the nearest vet clinic and leave the cavies at the front desk?

I'm definitely hoping for the best in this situation.

A semi update on the abandoned piggies was on CL. I'm glad to know that at least one person went down to check on them, so hopefully a caring person had just gotten there first. I hope that person posts to let us know that they're finally safe and out of that horrid person's "care"

Some careing people went and checked and said the guinea pigs were not there where the below posting said they would be.If you did the wonderful service of picking up the pigs or if you know they were never there and the poster was bogus, could you post here and let us know?Thanks,(I'm praying they were picked up and are warm and comfy now.

Good news! I posted on CL asking for an update as well and the girl who originally posted asking the woman to contact her and she would pick them up emailed me from my post asking about them. This is what she said:

My name is Gigi and I picked them up from the woman in New Rochelle . She was crying when I came to get them and said that she never would have actually left them alone on the street but she was desperate for someone to help. She said she had asked someone who was interested in taking the babies if they could take the adults to the pet store but then they didn’t get back to her and she didn’t have a way to get them there herself at the moment

Anyway, I took them and a very nice woman from NJ met me and took them in order to find them homes since I have like 8 cats and a dog at my house right now

Oh thank goodness..This has been on my mind so much. Its so sad that she had to post that on there out of desperation to have someone get her pigs.
I just wish everything goes well with them.

I got one of my boars this way...the poor thing was left in a carboard box with no food, bedding, water or hay next to a highway with a sign asking someone to take him. I convinced my mom to let me get him...the poor thing had a URI, lice and cuts and scabs all over him. He wouldn't let me touch him for the first month after I took him. Mailen's finally loosened up though-he's a real social guy. I talked to the lady who left him, I found a note with a phone number in the box...partially eaten. She said her three daughters were playing "salon" on him and cut him when he got a haircut. Grr... Well, I'm glad the pigs are in a safe home now.

Yeah, I find this situation very sad. The lady threating to leave them them on a street corner since no one was responding to her. I'm just glad she didn't actually follow up on that and leave them on the side of a road. God only knows who or what would have found them there.
