Portland, OR area, 1 male, 4 females for adoption I need to rehome my guinea pigs for various and personal reasons which I will not list here, but suffice it to say that it has not been an easy decision nor is this a perfect resolution, but in the end I think it is the best thing for everybody. First of all, I have one male texel PEW gp. His name is Boris. He used to have cagemates, but they have all since passed away. He is about three and a half years old. His hair is crazy and messy, so it is always trimmed (as opposed to brushed, YOUCH!) Honestly, he seems happier since his cagemates passed away; he popcorns a lot now. I have no idea why, as this goes against everything I've ever heard about gp's and their herd mentality. Anyway, he has no current or past health problems, but he is getting up there in age.Secondly, I have four females, ranging in age from two and three-quarters to three and a half. They are all bonded, although Einstein and Patch are REALLY bonded together (they might be from the same litter) and DD and Menka are really bonded together. I wouldn't be opposed to splitting them up, as long as they went in those pair combinations. Einstein is DEW abby, Patch is DEW (except for a patch over one eye which is brown) American, DD is brown and white American (although her hair is a bit longer than a normal American) and Menka is light brown/white Abbyruvian (I think). DD and Menka need occational grooming/trimming, and Ein and Patch are easy-peasy. Anyone who adopts Boris is welcome to take the cage (it is 3x3 with a corner missing; the perimeter is five-sided: 3, 3, 1.5, 2, and 1.5 if that makes sense!?). If someone will adopt all four of the girls they too can have the cage (it is two levels with the bottom being 3x3 and the top is 1x3; I have extra coroplast to extend the bottom to 3x4). Otherwise whoever adopts the last two remaining can have the cage. Both cages have two sets of fleece, which can go with the cages. Heck, y'all can have all of the remaining supplies (pigloos, water bottles, dishes, carefresh, pellets, hay, etc.). I live in Sherwood, Oregon and can help transport. I will require a $20 donation per guinea pig to be made to the animal shelter of your choosing. And if you email me saying you're interested, I'm going to quiz you on proper GP care, so be ready! I really want these wonderful guinea pigs to go to a great home. Any inquiries please PM me. I have pics I can link you to. Thank you!

Re: Portland, OR area, 1 male, 4 females for adoption Hey everybody, I just wanted to update: The four females are still up for adoption, but unfortunately Boris has passed away. If someone were to take all of them, the cage and all supplies go with. Thanks!

Re: Portland, OR area, 1 male, 4 females for adoption Omg I'm so surprised they haven't gotten homes yet they are all adorable. I would love to take a pair but at this time I can't take in any pets. Too bad though as I'm in Portland. I'm here just to research until after my partner and I have more stability. He's getting his teacher certification now so won't be employed for at least another 6 months. That's when I'll be ready. I wish you the best of luck with finding them forever homes ![]()

Re: Portland, OR area, 1 male, 4 females for adoption Do you have them listed on Guineapighome.com? I had one of mine on there (found out he was a boy, when he was supposed to be a girl when I adopted him) and someone replied to me within 2 days. I may have just had goodluck, and good timing though, but if you haven't listed them, give it a shot!
