I am looking for Guineas in Ohio.

I am looking for guinea pigs in Athens or Columbus Areas.
I'd be willing to meet half way to pick them up on a weekday or drive all the way on a weekend.

I'm looking for a girl and a boy. Not relatives though. Seperates to breed together or with my guineas.
I dont want shy guineas. Not aggressive either. I would like nice and loveable guineas. Please be healthy

Thank you
Maggie

Maggie, This is an anti-breeders forum. I personally will not help you find guinea pigs so you can breed and create more unwanted guinea pigs. Do you realize how many piggies there are waiting to be rescued. And you want to bring more into the world. That is selfish and pathetic!!!!

Re: I am looking for Guineas in Ohio.

So you want to be a breeder? Have you read anything on this site about breeding? Or the risks to the mother? Or the risks to the pups? Have you read anything on this site or other sites about how guinea pigs are being euthanized in shelters all over the country because no one wants them and there are not enough homes? BUT, you want to breed. And bring EVEN MORE pigs into the world that can be killed because no one wants them. Just great!

Re: I am looking for Guineas in Ohio.

Yeah, but that is only one problem. Do you know how much danger you are putting the sow in??? You could risk killing her. So please please listen to us and don't breed. If you would like to, don't brag about it here since it is not wanted.

This forum isn't breeder friendly if you haven't noticed already. What do you mean buy a million piggies? You don't need too many! Why can't you just have a few and leave it at that??? If you adopt, there is only a small adoption fee. And trust me, there is a rescue around you. There are some everywhere. You just have to use PetFinder. You may have to drive an hour or two, but it is worth it.

Re: I am looking for Guineas in Ohio.

OK. Your last post doesn't make sense to me. In the first sentence you say that you are not breeding to sell. Then in the second sentence, you say that you are going to sell a few. You can;t sell them and not sell them at the same time!

You don't even know what kind of home they are going to. They might have the risk of being used as feeders, to breed with, or to be dumped at a shelter.

Re: I am looking for Guineas in Ohio.

You say you don't have money to pay more than $10 for new pigs. But you have the money to pay for the hay, pellets, veggies they will eat and the cages and bedding they will need? Not to mention vet bills?

Don't think for a second that selling the piggies you don't plan on keeping will cover that.

A rescue is never going to adopt to a breeder.

Breeding can be extremely dangerous for the sows and babies. Please reconsider your choices. There are hundreds, if not thousands of guinea pigs out there that need adopting into homes. You mention that you want to find some for under $10. I have to wonder if you have the money, support, and other resources needed to take care of animals. Between cage building materials, bedding, pellets, unlimited amounts of hay, vegetables, other accessories (bowls, water bottles, cozies, possible toys), and any necessary vet costs, a single cavy can cost several hundred dollars a year. Multiply that by the number of pigs you have if you end up with sickly pigs. They aren't the cheap pets that a lot of people seem to think they are.

Please check out the links in the following threads. You will find a lot of information to help you take care of guinea pigs as well as give you some ideas of why this forum is so ANTI-breeding and ANTI-petstores. http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/...ost-first.html

Re: I am looking for Guineas in Ohio.

I have money to pay for them. I just dont want to pay a fortune for a guinea pig.

no more comments. i am done using this site.

none of this has anything to do with what i was asking.
just because i am "young" doesnt mean i cant take in on responsibilities you dont know what i do or how i get my money. i have parents who can pay plus i get $200 a month plus i get money for working at the place i work at.

forum has been dropped
no need to waste any time

Re: I am looking for Guineas in Ohio.

$200 per month won't even cover vet bills if anyone gets sick, let alone high quality feed and bedding each week if you are going to have several guinea pigs.

The breeding links given to you have a lot to do with what you were asking.

Re: I am looking for Guineas in Ohio.

You guys are so mean, why can't you just answer her question and get her two piggies she knows nothing about and breed them together with zero knowledge or goals then not be able to afford it when the female needs emergency vet care!?

I mean, all she wants is lots more guinea pigs which will make more guinea pigs which will make more guinea pigs which will lead lives of poor nutrition and suffering prior to being dumped on a shelter. I don't get why you have to be so harsh about it, 4H will love her.

(P.S. where I come from, emo is an insult!)
