Rehome 2yr Male in Madison, WI

With great dismay I am looking to rehome my young friend Toby. He's a two and a half year old, salt and pepper, male. Our intentions were good, he's been well cared for and loved, however, we just don't have the time to give him the attention he deserves.

I'm not looking for a rehoming fee, however, if you would want us to meet you at a half way point we would require fuel compensation. We're located in Madison, WI and have no problem traveling to central wisconsin or upper Illinois.

If we can't find a home for him then we'll be forced to surrender him to the Dane County Humane Society, which is in fact, an incredible humane society, where my girlfriend has been a volunteer.

Please message me if you are interested!

Hello,

I saw your post here and your other one with the picture of your cage. You have a wonderful cage for Toby. Listen, I'm really worried about you offering Toby for free. Anyone under the sun may show up to "adopt" him, including the local snake owner who is looking for free food. I know you don't want Toby to end up in that sort of situation.

Why don't you contact us at our website (Wisconsin Guinea Pig Rescue) and let us do a courtesy listing through our rescue? Don't try to place him through Craigslist or the like...you just never know what kind of people show up. But if they find us through petfinder and need to fill out an application (and pay an adoption fee) to adopt him, that is safer for him. The adoption fee would go to the rescue as a donation for listing him. And his cage could be part of the package.

What sort of timeline do you have?

When you e-mail the website, put "WICharlie sent me" in the title, so I will know who you are. And we can go from there. We can't take Toby in as an owner surrender as we are preparing for a larger intake of pigs (we rarely take owner surrenders due to space), but I am located very close to you and we also have a foster home in Mt. Horeb, if you need any other kind of assistance. But if you are willing to care for him while we list him on petfinder, that's the best of both worlds.
