Re: Looking for a GP rescue in my area

The humane society of Missouri down in St. Louis gets pigs alot. Also there is Critter Corral in Chicago but it may be too far. There are a few shelter in Iowa that I see have piggies alot too. Try searching on Petfinder.com: Adopt a pet and help an animal shelter rescue a puppy or kitten. it is very helpful!

Re: Looking for a GP rescue in my area

There are several available in Indianapolis, but that's 250 miles from St. Louis. Don't know where you are in MO.

I just adopted a pretty girl from a Vet through EARPS. Found her on PetFinder.com. The vet had several more guinea pigs (she takes in surrenders). Most were adults. She has males and females. She thinks a lot of her females are pregnant as the lady who surrendered a large group didn't know how to correctly sex them (sigh) so she'll have many babies soon, if you'd rather have a baby piggy.

But again, she may be too far from you to even consider.

Re: Looking for a GP rescue in my area

If you're interested in any of the piggies through the Critter Corral, we can arrange for transportation. I live in the Decatur area and have 5 girl piggies at my house that I'm fostering for the Critter Corral. There's another girl in this area, too that's a foster home. She has several singleton boys and a pair of boys & a pair of girls. You can send me a pm or email me at jenn@crittercorral.org and I can give you a list of the piggies down here. And like it's said, the MO Humane Society has some piggies, too. If you're interested in one or two of the piggies up North, we can do transports.

Re: Looking for a GP rescue in my area

Wow, thanks for the help. I will deffinalty check out Critter Coral.

It would be awsome if I could get a piggy train going so that I could adopt.

I want to have everything ready before I adopt, and not quit ready yet.

Thanks again for all your help

Re: Looking for a GP rescue in my area

Well here are the piggies down in Central IL from the Critter Corral:
Mocha & Pebbles
Colby & Swiss
Squeakers
Tex
Maurice
Wrigley & Comisky
Oatmeal & Faith
Jersey & Rusty

But like I said, if you're interested in adopting any other piggie from up there, we do transportations. Just let us know. Glad to see you're getting everything ready first. Good luck.
