Came across this ad on Craigslist today:

free male guinea pig, longhaired

I have already emailed the person to refer them here and to give advice on separating the boys from the girls. Hopefully the mom is not already pregnant again but this person obviously knows nothing about pigs.

Why do I even look at these things?? It may be fate but I'm going to be in Fresno in exactly 5 or 6 weeks. I would take the Mom and any other female babies if she would hand them over to me. Heck I would probably take the boys too! I'm wondering if she's planning on keeping the Mom all alone after she gives away the babies and dad. I've emailed her so we'll see what happens. I was looking into fostering after the first of the year so this could be a start! Goodness!!

I had better start looking for more coro, hideys, water bottles and all the other stuff I might need!

I haven't heard anything back from her yet so we'll see. I'll keep you posted though.

I heard back, she says she found a home for them, I hope that it is a good one.

I heard from her today too. She thanked me for referring her to this site and the info I gave her regarding separating the babies at 21 days. She was very nice. I hope someone who knows or is willing to learn about pigs adopted them. Oh well, we tried.

Hopefully she listened to you and seperated the babies. I just want to reach through the computer and knock sense into people sometimes! I've got to stay off of CL. I've been fighting and flagging one person in my area who keeps posting this horrible wire bottomed cage for sale. He says it's for guinea pigs and I keep flagging him and posting messages warning people that guinea pigs should not live in a cage like that. I don't know if it does any good but I'm trying!

I once flagged a guy selling a back-yard bred chihuahua. He didnt even know how to spell it! I spend a lot of time on CL too and sometimes I could just scream.
