I need Help!

Well, I feel in love with the perfect little boy. His name is Twoonie and he is at a SPCA in Maple Ridge, BC. My mom is in Langley on Thursday, so I thought great, she can get him. But she wasn't extatic(sp?) about the idea; saying that it would mean going an hour out of her way, an hour back.
I may be asking to much to be expected, but I am wondering if there is anyone would lives near Maple Ridge that would be willing to meet up with my mom somewhere. She will be taking the number 1 home, so if you know of a place to meet up thats great because I dont know the Lower Mainland very well. I am willing to pay the person for the gas and the time they take to do this for me.

I know lots will think to look for a pig closer, I have been, for the last 6 months! And when I saw his photo I felt weird, I knew it was him I've been looking for.
The only other possiblity was for her to pick him up of Wednesday, since she is driving from Vancouver to Langley and she is more willing to do the drive that way. But that would mean that Twoonie would spend wednesday and all of thrusday in the pet carry(it's large, and would have the conforts of home by the way). I would think this would be very stressful for him, but I might be wrong.

If there is anyone out there that can help, or give me advice on this matter, I would appreciate it SO much.

Now something more has come to my mind. If my mom picked him up on Wednesday, he would be spending the rest of wednesday and all of thrusday in a pet carrier(The carry is about the same size as the pet store cage I use to have my boar in) Would that be to much for him, I would think so anyway, but I may be wrong. Has anyone else done this? I could make it like his cage, with a pigloo, food, bedding, etc while he has to be in there. Do you guys think that could work?? Or would that be a very bad idea?

I talked to the spca about him too. They don't know his age, but his last owner caged him in a dresser(where you keep clothes) or so they say. I feel so bad for this little guy, and want to get him home even more.

Also can you go with your mom, offer her gas money?? As far as the carrier goes I think he would be fine in there for a very short time, as long has he had his stuff like hay, food ans water he would be ok. I would just make sure the temperature in the car is not to extreme.
If you don't find anyone to help transport him try talking to your mom again!

When you say he would be fine in the carrier for a short period of time, do you mean as a cage for the day, or when hes traveling?

I think being in a pet carrier for two days would be no big deal. Just think, if you take him he will be in a pet carrier for two days and a nice spacious cage for the rest of his life. If he stays at the shelter and is adopted to someone else, he will likely spend his WHOLE life in a cage the size of your carrier. As long as he has food, water, a hidey and appropriate temperature I think it's fine.

I dont have another email, so Ill pm you socal. I may look into getting another email soon, as Ive had troubles using hotmail or yahoo for sites.

I showed my mom the picture of him hoping that would help and she did really seem to like him. What she suggested is to have a volunteer from the SPCA drive out and meet her. Has anyone ever had this done? Do you know if they would be willing to do this? I would be willing to pay their gas and time.

Yes, thats actually were I found this guy. All the closest pigs and about 4-5 hours away. Ive look hard in my area, with no luck.

I thought I would post news. As the Maple Ridge spca was overflooded, Twoonie was moved to Coquitlam. Which turns out for the best, as its a very short way out of my moms way!! I will be getting Twoonie on wednesday afternoon, he will have to stay in the carrier till he gets here thursday evening. But as PiggieMamaKelly said, he will spend 2 days in there, but live the rest of his live in a big cage, compared to the pet store cage he could end up in.
Now, I just gotta hope that no one else falls in love with him till then because all the shelter can say is there is someone intrested, but can't save him. I do understand why, but I really hope he dosn't go. I'm so happy right now

As far as registering, is it that they don't accept yahoo at the board? I know on some of the boards I mod on, it's just that yahoo puts it to the spam area, and you have to check there for the e-mail confirmation.

Macha- I check the junk meail and my inbox many times after regeristering, but no email.

Socal-Today here is halloween(eeeek, I can't wait to go trick or treating) and my mom is picking him up from The Coquitlam spca at around 4. He will then spend the night with my mom at her friends in abbsford, and then on thursday will make the long 5 hour journey home to me!! I will have him here by thursday night. I will post pictures of him as soon as I can!
