I cant believe I am doing this(1 little boy)

My mom has come to the end of her rope.
I need to find my little boy a new home.
He is 3 years old, very sweet and loves carrots!

I would absolutely love it if a member here could adopt him from me.
I want him to live in a home with knowledgeable parents who will give him the best care possible.

I live in San Marcos, Texas.
It is south of Austin.
And north of San Antonio.

Please let me know if you are interested in him.
Your can contact me here or at kaylajere@hotmail.com
I will have to ask $25 for him, to insure he wont become lunch.

Heres a Picture of him:

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that, I would take him but I'm in Missouri. Maybe try listing on Craigslist, be sure to be sure he goes to a good home that knows a lot about guinea pigs and about there veggie needs and cage size and all that stuff, maybe try to find some one who would give him a friend too. Goodluck.

Why don't you try to take him to a shelter, maybe he can find someone special that will take care of him. Don't worry in the shelter they are going to keep him clean and well feeded. Good luck with your piggie.

None of the shelters I have seen do that, unless you mean a rescue. An animal shelter and an animal rescue are two very different things. Most shelters will euthanize guinea pigs.

Recommending people surrendering their pets to a shelter should be a very last resort.

I could never trust anyone on craigslist with him.
Id rather my mom kick me out then try for a home there.

The shelters around here are aweful.
Once again, I would rather get kicked out then that.

Re: I cant believe I am doing this(1 little boy)

Shelters usually euthanize the guinea pigs within a few days of their arrival unless they are a no-kill shelter, rescues on the otherhand are far better. Perhaps you have a rescue near you, I (and most likely other members) are willing to help you find a rescue if need be that is close by?

A rescue (Rescues, I believe, are all no-kill, correct me if I am wrong) will ensure that your little man will not be euthanized, people wishing to adopt your boy must fill out an application form which then must be approved of by the rescue before the people can adopt your boy.

Re: I cant believe I am doing this(1 little boy)

Have you tried posting on Guinealynx?? There are a ton of members there and maybe someone knows somebody. Whatever you do don't take him to a shelter, look for a rescue group if you have to but if you take him to a shelter he may be euthanized.
I'm curious why does your mother want him gone? Is there any way that you can convince her to let you keep him?
If you are going to look for another owner on craigslist or anywhere like that then I suggest that you find someone who already has piggies. That way you can be sure that he will have friends.
Craigslist is not so bad, I got 2 of my pigs from people on craigslist and actually my home ended up being BETTER than the ones that they came from. I sent the former owners pictures of my cage and told them of my whole piggy care routine and they were begging me to take the pigs (2 different owners)
You could make a questionare to ensure that the new owners know what they are doing. Make sure that they feed hay, quality pellets, fresh greens and have a good cage!
Good Luck!
