| After doing a bit of research I have decided that I think Wilbur needs a friend. I have put a few emails in to shelters in my area, but wanted to post here too just in case. I am located in Spokane, WA, about 3 hours east of Seattle and 30 min from the Idaho state boarder. Wilbur is a 13 weeks old intact male with one blind eye. age/sex/color does not matter but if it is a female I would prefer she was already spayed. Now for a few questions..the cage I have now is approx 40x30x36 with a second level that covers approx 1/4 of the cage. Is that big enough for two piggies? Will I need to quarentine the new piggie when it comes home? Anything other tips you guys have for me would be greatly appreciated as well ![]() |

| Re: 13 week old male cavy seeks friend in Spokane, WA area Yes, you will need to do a 3 week quarantine in a separate cage in a separate room. Boars normally require a cage the size of a 2x4 (28"x56") because they are a bit more territorial than sows. The size of your cage now is about that of a 2x3. Some boars that get along very well can live in a 2x3. Only the main floor counts as square footage. |
