Looking for Female/Neutered Male in South Louisiana Area

I'm looking for a female or neutered male to keep my lil girl company. No bullies please. Would consider taking a pair. Would have plenty of room(2 by 4 plus upper section) and lots of love!

on Petfinder.com there is an adoption center in New Orleans... if you go there and look under your zip you should be able to find some

There are Guinea pigs available through the Louisiana SPCA. I believe they are in the adoption center at Jefferson Feed in Kenner (outside New Olreans). Here are more details...

Try www.cavyrescue .com, look for classifieds and rescues.
Look on petfinder classifieds and adoptables.
Look on google for a shelter or rescue near you.

I've tried all the websites and I've called and emailed that shelter (they have three piggies listed) but they haven't contacted me back (i emailed two days ago, phoned one day ago). I think I may just make the trek tomorrow anyway (1 and 1/2 hours each way ugh!) but I will be really sad if I drive and no piggies are there.

Why not call Jefferson Feed directly? Be certain you state you are interested in Pigs available for adoption through he SPCA as they also sell cavies of their own at times. The number to Jeff Feed is 504-733-8572.

If you really wanted I could go down to the Japonica St SPCA and look for the pigs in person. I live relativly close to the shelter. I can post back to you whether or not they are there.

You can also try calling June Booth. She does rabbit rescue in the area but she may know of some cavies that need homes. Call June at 985-649-8990

I was going to call each of those today (if not go over) but someone in the Baton Rouge area saw my post on guinealinx.com and said that her friend had a lone piggy looking for a home. He had been the pet of some kids for the past year, but they got a puppy...and you can guess what happened to their interests. He has been living alone in a glass fish tank. They are willing to neuter him if I will take him. He even already has a Disney name: Nemo. I really hope that this works out.

Awwwww thats so sad for Nemo. If I brought home a puppy I would make sure that all of my pets get attention and they all do here at our home.

I guess I will call New Orleans SPCA/Jefferson Feed tomorrow morning. I hate phones...ugh. And if that doesn't work out then Texas Rustlers maybe. 8 hr drive there though.

I called over to Jefferson Feed. The lady said that they had one piggie left, but she didn't know the sex of it. Do you know how to sex piggies?
