I have been searching petfinder a lot lately as I want to adopt a friend for my previous guinea pig, Dixie. Well, I found her. Her name is Martha and she is from Pigs R Us in Southern Ontario, Canada. Only one problem, I'm down in Western, Ny and it would take about 4 hours to get there. Driving 40 mins to get Dixie was pushing it. I don't know what to do. Do I pass on it and wait for another guinea pig that is closer to me? Or do I keep prodding my mom?        |

There's a big rescue in Norwalk CT. Is that closer to you? I know there are some in NY and NJ too. Trying to help! |

You could arrange to meet someone half way there. It would decrease the trip by half. If you really want her you shouldn't pass her down. |

There is a rescue in Salem New York called Amiable Animals, not sure how far she is from you. I also have a rescue in Connecticut Connecticut's Guinea Pig Rescue Organization - The Critter Connection, Inc I'm just a little over an hour from the NY/CT border. You can also check out Petfinder.com: Adopt a pet and help an animal shelter rescue a puppy or kitten. as well |
