Unhappy 4 Girls in Dallas, TX

Hi y'all,

I have four, sweet, sweet girls in Dallas, TX looking for homes.

Cookie
Mama
The Other One
Kiddo

Goofy names, I know, but oh well

Our apartment complex is threatening to remove the guinea pigs and release them or give them to an animal shelter - both of which are COMPLETELY unacceptable to me.

They have to be out within the next month.

Cookie and Kiddo are about a year old; Mama and the Other one are almost two, but about three months-ish apart. None of them have been spayed. I interact with them ALL the time, but they don't really get a lot of out-of-cage time, so I'm not sure how well litter-trained they are.

Cookie is a sweetie pie - she's a golden-ish color, smooth coat. She's very, very shy and submissive. My boyfriend and I call her a "polite" piggy. She fusses way more than she needs to when you cut her nails - she'll squeak when you haven't quicked her. She seems pretty miserable at bathtime, but doesn't squirm too much. She never begs for food, except carrots. Even then, she'll wait in the back for her turn after all the other piggies. The others try to steal her carrots all the time, because she won't put up a fight for them - when you give her carrots, expect her to run across the cage to the other side to keep people from stealing them. She loves to cuddle with other piggies. She's somewhat difficult to catch when you want to hold her - not too hard, but definitely not easy. She is skittish to hands - she won't let you touch her, and she won't come sniff your hand. I have NEVER been bitten by her at all. I almost never hear her talk - maybe once or twice in the last year. She's almost silent. But a complete, total cutie The few times I have taken her out for lap time, she doesn't really run off.

Mama is an absolute sweetheart. She's a reddish, brownish abby. She loooooooooooooooooves to sit in cardboard boxes and paper bags, even when they're almost completely gone from being chewed to bits. She hands out kisses whenever you ask for them She's very, very sweet to other piggies - whenever we got new piggies, she'd always go cuddle with them rather than picking on them like the others. She doesn't fuss or squirm too much when you cut her nails and is pretty well behaved when you bathe her. She'll ask for food all the time - she isn't very loud, but she's extremely high pitched. She's easy to catch for lap time. She'll come sniff your hand and - like I said - give out kisses whenever you want them She does not bite. Ever. When you take her out for lap time, she'll sit still for a little while, but usually run off to find somewhere to hide - whether it's in your hair, under your shirt, or under the couch. She used to get sick WAY more often than the other piggies - got URI's a couple times and had mites about a year and a half ago. She hasn't had any kind of medical problem since, though. She sneezes and coughs when she isn't sick. She is the Other One's mother - Mama was at a pet store and they couldn't sell her because she was pregnant, so I took her home. She's a pretty submissive piggy - I've never seen her get into a fight with another pig.

The Other One got her name because we couldn't think of a name for her. And it just kind of suited her in a weird way. She's kind of a chubby piggy because she steals everyone's veggies when she can... or she tries to hog them all. She LOVES to jump up on top of things and "perch" there. She can easily get on top of one of the smaller igloos and a wooden house we have. When she doesn't feel that being up that high is necessary, she's content to perch on one of our wooden half-tunnels (that can't be used as a tunnel anymore because the piggies are too fat). However, she NEVER tries to get out of the cage, even when she is perfectly capable of doing so. She is LOUD when she squeaks. Her goal in life seems to be having her nose up higher than all the other piggies when she's asking for food (and she'll ALWAYS ask - even when she already has something to eat). She nibbles a tiny bit, but doesn't bite hard. She hates having her nails cut and will cry and cry and cry over it. She despises bath time. She's pretty hard to catch when she feels like running. It really depends on her mood. She is definitely a fun little piggy, though. She seems to have soooooo much personality in her eyes - she'll give you looks. When she wheeks, her ears wiggle (it's the cutest thing EVER!!!). I know she sounds like a brat, but she has SUCH a funny little personality - you'll love just sitting and watching her do crazy things.

Kiddo is our newest piggy. She's probably about 8-10 months old. She is quieter than The Other One and louder than Mama. She's very, very skittish. She will OCCASIONALLY let you pet her. She is REALLY hard to catch. She hasn't had a bath time yet. She seems to be taking after the Other One, because when it's carrot time, she'll be trying to practically climb out of the cage to get them. I'm not sure how dominant/submissive she is, because she's so much younger than the other piggies. I think she's going to grow up to be pretty dominant, though. She does bite some, but a lot less than she used to and definitely not as hard. I think eventually she won't bite at all - it mostly seems at this point that she is still trying to establish what is food and what is not. I have not had her out for lap time at all. I don't think she is litter trained. She likes to flop and go to sleep out in the cage rather than inside of a house. She loves to try new foods - this is the ONLY piggy I've ever seen that wasn't apprehensive about trying a veggie she'd never seen before.

I'd really, really like it if the girls went either all together or in pairs. Ideally, the pairs would be Mama/The Other One and Kiddo/Cookie. The Other One will occasionally get into arguments with Cookie. I've never seen the two of them cuddle - they pretty much look like they're avoiding each other.

I am asking for a small adoption fee of $15 per piggy to encourage replies from serious piggy-lovers rather than people looking for snake food.

Please help me find homes for my girls - we love them all sooooo much and we want them to go to good homes that will spoil them rotten

If you are worried about extra food, needing more C&C grids to expand your cage (or need to build a new one), food dishes, pigloos, etc., I am going to have to get rid of the cage anyways and we just bought a 50lb bag of Oxbow food.
