Looking to adopt

I am looking to adopt a guinea pig.
I live in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, USA
So anybody looking to rehome their guinea pig who lives in Rhode Island, please let me know!

I am ready to be interviewed for people to see if I am mother-material. ;]
Please respond soon because I am planning on going "piggy hunting" tomorrow.

Re: Looking to adopt

My sister goes to school in Providence and is coming home tonight. I know she has been looking in shelters for cats, I'll ask her if she came across any pigs.

Re: Looking to adopt

thank you, that would help very much!

and before anyone tells me to look at petfinder.com, I have already searched there. No results matched for Rhode Island, and I cannot go in Massachusetts, as my mom will not drive that far.

Re: Looking to adopt

Some animal shelters aren't listed on petfinder. You can call or visit your local shelters. Many don't advertise their exotics.

There are a few ads under petfinder classifieds, like:

Small & Furry:Guinea Pig
Cumberland,RI 401 658 3280 Jessica Cournoyer peacefulwomyn@hotmail.com3-09-2007Name: Ginger
Age:Young Adult
Sex:F
Size:S
DeleteWe adopted Ginger from the pet store about 8 weeks ago. She had to be rehomed due to allergys in her previous family. She has been seen by my vet and has been given a clean bill of health. She is loving and adorable. She squeeks for food in the morning and is happy to be held! But my husband has developed an allergic reaction. She is a longer haired Guinea so allergies can be quite an issue. I need to rehome her. But I will only want to do so to a family who is SURE that they are NOT allergic as this will be her 3rd home and I hope it is her final home. I do not know how she would react to another pig but we were planning on trying to get her a bonding mate so she may be happy with another female or a neutered male. An adoption fee of $25 would be great. I also have her starter cage, water bottle and a 5 pound bag of food available , all for $10 if you need that.

Re: Looking to adopt

Update: I have adopted my guinea pig, Nutmeg today, from a shelter. ^^ I adopted her for 40 dollars, so I was not able to afford a second one...I only brought so much money. So, I am still looking to adopt a friend for her within the next couple weeks. Please let me know if you have a guinea pig up for adoption in Rhode Island!

Re: Looking to adopt

I adopted her from the Animal Rescue League Of Southern Rhode Island. They normally only have cats and dogs, but once in a while they recieve rabits and other small animals. ^^

Re: Looking to adopt

Unfortunately, I could only get a pet store cage because my mom would not drive me to target..but she gets free range around my large bedroom unless I am at school or out of my room for a long time. She has been popcorning all day! She runs around my room and uses her cage as a potty.
