Hi there, some of you may have read my never ending threads about my three piggies. I originally had two guys and I have had those since they were babies. Eight months later I decided to get another guy. After quarantine and two introductions, things are not going well at all. To cut a long story short, one of my original guys got attacked to the point where it looked like he had bad mites. I do think he developed mites from the stress but he had some awful wounds and I witnessed some bleeding. Therefore, this guy is alone now as his original cage mate also turned on him. So, now I have my new piggy and one of my original guys together and my other original guy seperate. But, the new piggy seems to be causing wounds to my original guy. He had a bite on his testicles and today it looks as if his ear has been almost ripped. I do not have happy piggies and it's making me unhappy. Therefore, I feel it is best to find my new piggy a suitable home. I do not have space to have three seperate cages. Also, the new piggy seemed unhappy about being alone but wants to be a dominant piggy with other piggies. I would like to find him a really good home. Which is the best way to go about ensuring he gets rehomed properly? If there is anybody on here who would like to take a piggy in need and lives in the UK near Yorkshire (or however far you are willing to travel) then please message me. To whoever takes him, (by the way his name is Patches)...he needs to be indoors and I will provide the cubes in order to be able to create a large cage for him. He is living in a large cage now so I would really like him to live in the size he is used to, so no less than a 2X4 ideally. I will also include his bowl and water bottle. Here is a picture of him. He is about a year and a half old. We have only had him for about 2 months. I know he is not happy and would like him to go to a good home that will make him a happy piggy. If you have any questions please message me.

Re: A new home for my piggy. Are people able to list their guinea pigs in "Guinea Pig Home" if they live in the UK? All the adoptables seem to be in America.

Re: A new home for my piggy. I am sorry that things have not gone smoothly with your introductions, and wish you and your piggies best wishes for a happier future! Just wondered if Patches was adopted from a shelter - in which case, there is probably a cause in the contract that you return him to the rescue if things don't work out at home.

Re: A new home for my piggy. Thank you Jarbax. I got him from a family who didn't have time for him anymore. I feel so awful for him and really want to find him a good home where he can settle and be happy. How is the best way to do this in the UK?

Re: A new home for my piggy. Hi, I just want to end this thread as Patches and Basil seem to be sorting their differences. I changed their cage yesterday. I re-designed it and it is still a divided cage but much better. Ever since I did that I have seen three very happy piggies. They are popcorning

Re: A new home for my piggy. Wow, this has been an emotional rollercoaster! I was about to write a reply saying I'm so sorry etc, and I felt so bad for poor little Patches (who is SO cute by the way). But congratulations! So Patches and Basil are together and Gizmo is on his own? I'm so glad it's working out

Re: A new home for my piggy. Hi Terekins. Lol. Talk about a rollercoaster! You're not kidding. I'm so pleased things have worked out. Basil and Patches are not 100% yet as I have noticed some bites on Basil's nose and lip. His lip looks a little swollen too. Patches also has a little scab on his nose. However, things seem to be settling down with them and their is not as much teeth chattering, although there is still a bit. However, they are popcorning all over the place and Gizmo is popcorning all over too.

Re: A new home for my piggy. Just thought I would post some pics of how I divided the cage. They are so much happier now. I took a picture of the whole thing but I couldn't fit it all in so a took seperate ones of each side. the one with three levels is Basil and Patches side and the other side is Gizmo's. Gizmo has a 'dark room' which is the square with the dark blue fleece at the end. He LOVES this! The cage is divided at the hay rack in the middle of the wood shavings.

Re: A new home for my piggy. That is an awesome cage!!! Does the door always stay open for them or is it just for floor time?

Re: A new home for my piggy. Thanks Wickedrodent. The cage is open for most of the day. I alternate between Gizmo's cage and Basil and Patches. It is for floor time and it is locked up at night.
