Baby piggies in WI!

Hi! Just letting all of you know that the Sheboygan County Humane Society will have several baby piggies and their mom available for adoption soon. Two babies are already reserved, but the mom and I think two or three other babies have not yet been claimed. They are currently being fostered by a coworker of mine so they do not come into contact with the parasites and diseases that get brought in by strays.

The foster family is very charmed by them, all except the human mother so they may not be able to keep any. But all of the cavies are well socialized and enjoy cuddle time with the humans every day. Apparently it is very uncommon to get pregnant cavies in the shelter here, so this is a rare chance to adopt some babies that were raised by a loving family, not a breeder out to make some bucks. And we're only an hour north of Milwaukee.

Re: Baby piggies in WI!

There are 5 babies, 1 girl and 4 boys if the foster parents sexed them correctly. There are two adoption holds but I don't think they've picked which babies they want yet.

Re: Baby piggies in WI!

I work in Sheboygan County, and boy do I wish I had the space for another piggy. But I barely have enough space for the 2 I have. Hopefully they will all find good homes!

Re: Baby piggies in WI!

Update! The babies went up for adoption last week. There is only one baby left. Sorry, I forgot to check the gender. The mom has an adoption hold on her, so she should be going home soon if her new family checks out. I hope they tell the family that her favorite tv show is Walker, Texas Ranger. Seriously!

The foster family was able to keep two boys, and one of the other babies went home with another shelter worker.

That's good news. I'm happy to know the babies have good homes to go to.
