Gee, what a LARGE cage. Excuse my sarcasm. He's only about 15 minutes from me, but my parents won't allow me to get a guinea pig because we have so many other animals. |

I was looking at a cage similar to that on ebay a few days ago. If the gap between the wires was smaller, I was considering it for my hamster. |

Another person "upgrading" their pet. Typical. |

Well, hopefully for the dog, they don't decide to get a pony. How stupid, when they bought the gp, unless there were real circumstances to be considered, it was a commitment for the life of the animal, not until they got bored. How sad, more so in how common that you see it. |

It was probably a bad idea, and I will most likely get a nasty note in return, but I emailed this person and suggested they reconsider getting a dog since they have a responsibility to their current pet. Like they'll be affected by my email...I just had to say something. People like this don't even think they're doing anything wrong...they just don't get it. |

Ok, so WHY can't you keep the GP AND have a dog? I don't get it either - sometimes there are extreme situations that warrant rehoming a pet, but not just because you are tired of it. On the other hand, if they actually get this piggy into a home like those of many here on the forum, it's the pig that will benefit. Otherwise he will spend the rest of his life in a cramped cage all alone with no attention while they are out house training the new puppy (well, at least until they get tired of the puppy chewing everything and making messes and the kids get bored with him)... |

The upgrading is how I got my Hamilton. They got a puppy. Before my guinea pigs , I had two dogs , a cat, two birds , fish, and a tortoise. You know what? I still kept them. People act like there is a one pet policy. Rrrr |
