Hello, I am looking to adopt a cavy. I live in New Castle Indiana and really can't travel too far but we lost our cavy a few months ago and my son is desperate to get another.        |

Have you checked Petfinder.com: Adopt a pet and help an animal shelter rescue a puppy or kitten. or craigslist: san francisco bay area classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events? |

I have checked petfinder but I thought I might post it on here in case there was someone closer looking to rehome their cavy. The closest I have found in is Indianapolis and I am horrible about getting around that city. |

Just keep your eye out. Post around at different guinea pig forums and try contacting vets in your area to see if they know of anyone trying to rehome their pigs. |

I live in Indianapolis and got my piggies through the Humane Society. Here is the link Humane Society of Indianapolis - Welcome Page. Click on Small Animals and it will show you the guinea pigs (etc.) that are available right now. |

I live about an hour away from Indy. My only problem is that I do not get around the city well and my husband works the night shift and 12 hour shifts so I would have to be the one to pick it up. I am just hoping to find one closer or find someone willing to meet me half way. |

I just remembered I have a doctors appointment tomorrow(Friday) morning. I think my dad is taking off the day to drive me since it all confuses me so I may make a trip over to the humane society to check out their piggies. |

Well, guess I wont be able to get the Humane Society tomorrow. They are making my husband work a 12 hour shift tomorrow so I have to come home early enough to pick the kids up from school. Getting a guinea pig is much more difficult than I expected. |

I found someone on petfinder trying to rehome a couple of piggies. I still haven't heard back from them but they sound interesting. They are both young males w/ long hair. I have never dealt with long hair before so that could be an adventure. |
