Two Male Piggies Available in DFW

I have the sad task of looking for a new home for our two 9 month old piggies. Our 4 year old "loves" them and has been bitten on one too many occasions. They are sweet but they need more adult attention, and she needs something that doesn't bite her everytime she wants to hold it. Heck, I don't know about the "Guinea pigs rarely bite" theory....I held one for a minute last night and went to put him down and he got me on the hand after he was already back in the cage?!?!?! My oldest sons allergies are horrible when we give them Timmy Hay too, so bringing a huge allergen in the house isn't real keen with him.

They have a 4ft by 2ft grid and coroplast cage that can go with them, and the smaller pet store cage for transport. Water bottles, Timmy Hay trough, Feed hopper, Pigloo and step stool that they love to sleep under. Just need to find a healthy and happy home for them.

One is a long haired black and brown piggy named Buckwheat, and the other is a curly short haired orange and white named Alfafa. I can't find any pics of them on my computer, but would be happy to take some and post them for anyone who is interested. They are really cute!

Re: Two Male Piggies Available in DFW

There's always a reason for a guinea pig bite. Are you sure they don't have mites, every time you touch them they will be in excruciating pain and bite to get away. Or if you don't hold them properly and they feel threatened they will bite. It really sounds like there's a way to fix this, but if you're really set on finding them a new home, I'm sure you will find the right home for them. This would be the place to look, we're all very passionate about our piggies and are always willing to help.

Re: Two Male Piggies Available in DFW

If you're in the DFW area, as I am, let me just warn you (from personal experience) that it's very difficult to find good homes. Try posting your pigs up here, on Guinea Lynx, the Pigloo, and on petfinder. Good luck.
