Why do you "need" two guinea pigs? |

Cortney, it might help to post a general area you are willing to travel to to get pig, say perhaps which state you are in, if you are in the US. You can try browsing craigslist for your city, petfinder.org, or look for local rescues or humane societies. |

This is an international forum. Where in the world are you? Narrowed down to nearest country and state / province would help! We can help you find pigs, but it would help if we knew a little more about you, and most members here would only personally adopt out to someone who is willing to actively participate (at least a little) in this board, as it shows a commitment to maintaining a high standard of care. www.petfinder.com may help you locate a pig if you are in the US or Canada. Also, try calling your local shelters as they often have pigs but don't list them online. |

Courtney have you done any research on owning cavies and taking the proper care of them? Guinea pigs are social animals and should be kept in at least pairs. No one on this site is going to adopt out to anyone without knowing that that person knows how to take care of the pigs. I suggest you read through the links in this thread: http://www.cavycages.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17032 And start collecting the things you need to keep two pigs (i.e. a proper C&C cage, quality hay and pellets, hidey houses, bedding, water bottles ect) and start saving up money for an emergency vet fund. Once you have done this and can show us that you are a capable owner I am sure that we will be able to help you find two sows to adopt. By the way. Is there nay reason you want only sows? Boars are just as fun. I have two boars who live together and I love them a lot. |

Two is better than one. How prepared are you to take in a couple of piggies? Do you have a cage built, are you familiar with the foods that are best for them to eat. If you have a store bought cage they are really small and unfair to GPs. This website is great for research along with Guinealynx to make sure you have all your information you need to get started. That way you and your piggies can start out with a happy home. |

Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 don`t worry if you think that I am not ready for two piggys but I am I have a 9x6 breth case full of supply and info. also I have one girl piggy that I had at my old house. I had two girl piggys but my aunt said when we moved that I had to get rid of her and could keep the other. so I made sure that she went to a good home ! some times I thake my piggy and I go to my best friends house. she took her so they could see each other. but don`t worry I had 4 piggys once and gave each one great care. So don`t think that I can`t care of more then 2,3 ,or4 piggys. |

Oh my. First of all, my adoption policies at Cavy Spirit require that I deal only with ADULTS on adoptions. I need to enforce the same standards here. Just based on your post above, I would not adopt out to you. Please do more research. Feel free to post questions elsewhere. I am closing this thread. |
