I just discovered a free guinea pig listed on craigslist for Chicago. Apparently, it was found by a creek, abandoned in a box. I'm going to recommend The Critter Corral to them, but if anyone's interested and is close to Illinois, they say it's a female and can be picked up in the suburb of Crystal Lake. Poor thing. : (

If I could go get her I would but I can't get anymore piggies (at least for now). I hope they can take her to Rose. Nice suggestion. I just noticed that Rose is up to a few more piggies. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I found this message posted by a member of The Critter Corral as well. They're looking for people they can supply with mailing labels to send them their empty ink cartridges. They get reimbursed $2 per cartridge to help offset their vet bills.

I posted this Craigs listing on GL as well. Maybe someone can help them out.

I'll have to see if I have enough moolah to squeeze out a few extra bucks for her. I know she just took on a few more piggies.

Aww Jenn, does that mean you don't want to hear about the classified in the Southtown newspaper this week for the person 'moving to Canada and free to good home, two dogs, cats, and one guinea pig ?! Ok, I won't mention it.

Yeah, that's what Ladyveg on GL said that Chicago has alot of homeless piggies.

I wish I were rich and had a huge house to start my own rescue down here. Maybe I'll win the lottery one day soon and can quit my job, stay home with my kids and have a house full of piggies along with a doberman, black great dane, black lab, maybe a cat, and what ever else I can sneak in without hubby noticing. TeeHee!

Sorry about the blank post. Somehow, it wouldn't let me type my own post. I signed out and back in, so here I am.

Anyways, I just posted on GL (I signed up with them yesterday), that there's a total of 7 guinea pigs on the Furry Friends Foundation's website. They do not post with Petfinder from what I could see. They have 3 pairs and one lone male. The male was born 9/04 at the shelter, and they've tried pairing him with others pigs and he keeps getting picked on. They'd like for him to have a non-aggressive friend. He's pretty cute - orange with a white splash on his head.

Just one last sidenote to my prior post. When you get to Furry Friends Foundation's website, the main page lists only dogs, cats, and rabbits. When you click to see their adoptables, the choices change to dogs, cats and guinea pigs. No wonder why they're still there. I almost passed it right up.

I saw that one last night. It's so frustrating. Too bad we can't trade our hubby's in like some people do with their pets.

Just kidding. It really does upset me but at least my girls are getting well taken care of. I'd still like to add a himi boar or sow at this point. I'm contemplating separating into three groups of three. I have three girls that constantly pick on one another. I'm hoping once this last dose of Ivermectin kicks in they won't be so witchy.
