As many of you know I am adopting two piggies on Monday from the Humane Society located in Montgomery Alabama. The lady who runs the shelter called me today and someone dropped off a sow and boar and their three babies that are about three weeks old. The previous owner of the pigs was a kid that decided she was "tired of them and if she got rid of the her parents were going to buy her a horse". So now Rea, the lady at the shelter is trying to rehome the pigs as quickly as possible, but in good lovable homes. The Humane Shelter there is smaller and really set up to house dogs and cats, they do not get small animals very often and she is afriad the sound of the dogs is going to upset the guinea pigs (she is right). I told her there have been a few posts for guinea pigs in Alabama on this forum and I would post this for her. So if anyone is interested her phone number at the shelter is 334-567-7453. Please only call if you are honestly interested in adopting, willing to build a CC Cage, and capable of giving them everything they need. |

Grrrr. She doesn't deserve a horse. I hope those guinea pigs are fairly healthy. I have a a horse and we just recently got a pony, but my parents didn't use them as bribery and my family is horse-oriented... well, not my dad, but all the girls in the family are. I almost wish my grandparents could take them in... but they know nothing about cavies, they probably wouldn't want any, and they're getting a bit old. |
