Looking for a Silky

I have a fallen in love with a friend's Silky and would love to have one of my own. I live in the Tampa Bay area. Anyone know of a reputable breeder in the area? (He inherited his, Christie, from an ex-girlfriend, so we can't ask her. )

Thanks so much for your help!

Susan

Re: Looking for a Silky

Need to re-home your guinea pig or want to adopt?
#1: Stay OUT of the pet stores no matter what you do!

#2: Please visit Cavy Rescue and create a Private Listing in the Cavy Classifieds. Then,

#3: Check out the More Resources page on Cavy Rescue for additional places to look for or place a guinea pig for adoption.

Re: Looking for a Silky

Have you ever thought about adopting a Silky that needs a good home? This site is pro-adoption. There are many piggies just waiting to be adopted. Please check with your local SPCA or other rescues. Also try www.PetFinder.com. They also have a clasified section and a list of local rescues/shelters.

Good luck!

Re: Looking for a Silky

He's either a silkie or a peruvian - what a beautiful boy. I'd take him in a heartbeat Hard to believe that someone brought him all the way from England and now he's looking for a home.

But then again, I'm picking up those two long-haired boys from the shelter on Thursday.!

Please don't buy from a breeder when there are so many in shelters and rescues that need homes.
