Re: Amiable Animals Adoptables - NY and New England areas

Hi Again Amy - the boys are terrific - Miracle is sweet and loving and sits still for a good scratch behind the ears or under the chin - but mostly he likes to popcorn around in my arms but only if I'm wearing a fleece sweatshirt - every now and then he decides that he's going to be boss but Mookie just kind of laughs - they get along super well and will wheek A LOT if one of them is missing in action (out of the cage with me) for too long. I'm completely spastic at cutting their nails (I'm terrified that I'm going to cut their whole toe off!) so we go to the vet for that. The vet really likes both of them and says they look real good. One of the vet techs also commented on how nice and energetic and healthy they looked. I'm broke right now because of bird related stuff - have you ever thought of doing an adoption day at an Agway or something on the weekends - if I knew in advance I'd be glad to help you with that - I have time but unfortunately I don't have much spare money! Wendy

Re: Amiable Animals Adoptables - NY and New England areas

Snowball is a Teddy, although he may have something else in him as well, since he has longer hairs in the back - not too many though. Whatever he is, he is sweet and adorable and needs a good home!

Re: Amiable Animals Adoptables - NY and New England areas

I would absolutely love Snowball, but I have 1 male a 4 females right now so I don't think that they would get along because of two males in the same cage with females.

Re: Amiable Animals Adoptables - NY and New England areas

Is Plattsburgh, NY a long drive from your foster home? We are looking to adopt a new friend once we finish building our new cage. I am still in the process of trying to find the proper materials to use. I love the look of the mesh cube cage but have not seen very many made out of them. We have learned so much about piggys since finding this site we want to do it once and do it right.

Re: Amiable Animals Adoptables - NY and New England areas

opps! I posted last night but see it didn't make it here for some reason.

Plattsburgh is about 2.5 hours form me, not too far at all. I could probably meet an approved applicant partway if needed.

You can find the mesh cubes at Linen's N Things or Bed, Bath & Beyond, I believe.

Email me at amiableanimals@ nycap.rr.com for an application or more info.

Re: Amiable Animals Adoptables - NY and New England areas

Hey Amy! I can't believe these beauties haven't been beauties up! They are all beautiful. Rocky is wonderful. So cute and big. He is very solid - as opposed to Cujo's mushiness. Sebastian is great too - he has done a turnaround personality wise. If Cujo gets close to him he wheeks. He has become a real cry-baby. Isaac and Willie are very anti-social. They don't want to be touched and are still get jumpy when you approach. I really don't know why but they are close to each other at least. Hope you are doing well. I wish I could take them all!

Kim

I am so glad that Rocky continues to do well. He was such a cute little c-section baby!!! Do you have any new photos to share?

Amy,
I love little Hailey! I have a special fondness for Abbys and have been looking for a DEW girl. (My son loves the color and I love my pigs!) I wish I lived closer!

Re: Amiable Animals Adoptables - NY and New England areas

Hailey is my little guy's mom. My guy (Miracle) is a spit fire - full of energy and SPEED - we say that he's practising for the giant salom (sp?) race - he charges up and down the ramp in his cage at a break neck pace - he is just busting with personality - so if Hailey's even a little bit like him, I bet she's a ton of fun.

Amy, I live in southern PA, right by the MD border. Any chance you vacation down this way?

Well, I was just in Lancaster 2 weeks ago! Doesn't look like I'll be going back anytime soon, though.

What a shame, that's about 20 mins from my house! If you ever do, let me know.
