Seeking young male in Salem, OR

Our Pinkerton was a literal rescue -- I found him running down the side of a country road where he'd been dumped. I'd like to get him a companion now that he has a larger cage. I'm checking with the local shelters, but haven't turned anything up yet, and I'd be happy to get any leads.

Re: Seeking young male in Salem, OR

I found one! I found one!

Check out little "Rock Star" at the bottom of this page:

http://www.heartlandhumane.org/pub/?...abbits_rodents

I have him home now. He was a surrendered piggie, from a family that bought piggies for their preschool children and somehow thought that kids too young to pick up their own rooms could take full charge of an animal. "If you kids don't take care of those Guinea pigs, I'll take them away!" Might be the best thing that happened to them since they were neglected. I wish I could have brought the little female home, too, but I don't have room for her.

Rock Star? Nah... his name is going to be Webster.

Re: Seeking young male in Salem, OR

Yes, Fluffy was the girl. I hope she gets adopted soon. If she's still there after Webster and Pinkerton move in together, I'm half tempted to foster her. She needs socializing.

I finally got a picture of Webster:

He still panics whenever someone walks into the room, but I've been working with him, petting him, and today I picked him up and fed him cilantro while I held him. He loves fresh green stuff. I think all he's been eating up until now is pellets and an occasional carrot. Soon he should understand that "hands = food" and should start to relax a bit.
