Adoptable in MO? I feel so bad...one of my piggies passed away. I was so proud that my 5 yr old and I were taking such good care of them. We care for them every night as part of his bedtime routine. My son always tells me to add more hay, carrots, lettuce, and water. When I was checking poor Squidward just before his passing, I noticed that his teeth were really long compared to George's. So I made sure to put more carrots than usual and lots more hay. I wonder why George's teeth seem to be of normal size...could he have been the dominant one; eating more of the food and not leaving enough for Squidward? Anyway, I would like to adopt a pal for George. He is very healthy, runs around that cage like he's an olympic sprinter or something.

Re: Adoptable in MO? Try www.petfinder.com . There are some rescues down in your area. Or you can do a search for cavy rescues or www.gpan.net has listings from owners on it. Good luck and I'm sorry to hear about your piggie.

Re: Adoptable in MO? Please stick around this site and I guarantee you will learn more than you ever dreamed of about proper piggie care, things such as carrots in large amounts daily aren't good for piggies and that a good variety of fresh veggies are the key to a good diet. Your Squidward may have had teeth problems that were preventing him from being able to eat properly. Did you ever notice him drooling when he ate? The only way you would know for sure on why he died would be to have the vet necropsy the body but it has to be done soon after death. I am very sorry you lost your piggy. What part of Missouri are you in?

Re: Adoptable in MO? I am kind of thinking of adopting a single nutured male soon too! I was suppoused to bring three piggies home from the girl I got them from had a little acident, her dog some how accidently stepped on one of the girls and she had such complex internal injuries that she had to be put down. I am not entirely sure if I am going to get another piggie or not but the though has crossed my mind about getting a boy and keeping him in a seperate cage close to where the girls might be...so I might check out some rescure places in town and see if I can help a little guy out

Re: Adoptable in MO? You should try the human society of Missouri. They always seem to have males up for adoption. Also check out craigs list. Humane Society of Missouri Right now the HSMO has about 5 male guinea pigs. Two have their pictures and I think they are adorable.
