Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 So as I was thinking about which hidey's I should get my girlies when they arrived, I remembered that the pigs need something to chew on because of their teeth. I thought about getting at least 2 hidey houses. One would be a pigloo of sorts and the other some kind of wood house. Would this be sufficient in wearing down the ever growing teeth, or do I need something else? Does cardboard work to wear down teeth also? |

You need to give them unlimited grass hay. Wood chews don't really help wear down their teeth. |

They need hidey's but not to wear down teeth. They need them so they have a place to hide where they feel safe and secure. Wooden ones are ok to use but they can harbor bacterias. Plastic ones are easier to keep clean and disinfected. Cardboard, if eaten in large amounts, can be detrimental. It could cause blockage. |
