Anyone else have piggs who urinate in their houses where they sleep? I find it quite disgusting because it makes them stinky . I have a group of boys who used to, for the most part, 'go' in the corner. Now everytime I clean I've noticed that the bedding under the houses is soaked. I have 5 piggies and I'm not sure who is doing it since they don't sleep in any particular house regularly. Any suggestions for modifiying behavior? |

What about putting a litterbox in those corners that are soaked and put they hidey's on top of the little box, lined with carefresh or something absorbent like that? |

yes.both my girls pee in the house they sleep in. Pee gets all over them. I now put some fleece inside to soak it up. |

My two girls don't pee where they sleep, they are mostly litter-box trained on that part but they do poop everywhere (like where they sleep) and in the litter box. I would probably do what angiekay said if you have a big enough littler box. Or just put a dish towel or something under there hidey houses that can absorb the liquid. |

Mine ONLY pee in thier houses and then sleep in it. I have started putting trays of litter, paper and hay under each of their houses to soak it all up. The good news is this means I just have to change out the two mini liter boxes and the fleece is pretty much good for a week as long as I keep the poop cleaned up and shake off the hay once a day. |

Fleece does not absorb moisture, it wicks it to whatever is under it, so you may want to consider using towels, or bedding under the hidey huts. |

My pig's house is in their kitchen area where the litter is. I moved it because they peed and pooed in it. Soft beds are on the fleece. |

It's normal, mine do that too. I just vacuum the poops out (I have fleece), and I also have little pads made of a little 'pillow' of fleece wrapped around a layer of batting. They're easy to just change out when they get dirty, making the rest of the cage stay fresher, longer. |

mine pee and poop wherever they sleep! It almost makes me wonder if it's because they're too lazy to walk 2 grid squares over to the kitchen area. They pee in their hidey house where apollo likes to sleep, and all over their soft beds I made them where Wilson sleeps. I'm going to have to make more beds so I can start handwashing them every night! |
