We got these silver grids from Bed, Bath and beyond. Their not your normal grids either. Their 14'' but their really hard to bend. Should I step on it and bend it or does anyone have any picture instructions/instructions on building a hay rack with the grids. |

I have the same grids. Mine bent pretty easily if I put a foot on one end (or in the middle) and slowly pulled up on the other end. Make sure the side where the grid lines connect to the outer square faces the ground. |

I just sit on one side of the grid and then bend the other side up. |

My grids are from BB&B, too, and I was able to bend them fairly easily - I put a 2x4 board across the grid, with the edge lined up with the middle of the grid. Then I stood on the board and pulled up the other side of the grid until it was bent far enough. The board held the grid securely so I could pull hard, plus it made sure the grid bent in the correct place straight across. |

I tried to bend a grid about a month ago and the darn thing snapped in two! It wasn't from BB&B though. Would you recommend those? My hubby thought they looked a little flimsy. |

The grids do that frequently. I think this has less to do with the place you bought it and more to do with the type of steel used to make the grids themselves. They were never designed to be bent and were made cheaply using a brittle stainless steel. I have had a lot of luck bending the grids slightly. Then once they are bent just a little bit they become easy to bend by hand. So you can control the bending a little easier and you can watch the metal where it is stressed for breaks. They are all built flimsy IMO but for the quantity you receive for 13 to 25 USD per box they are a good deal. |
