paper towel rolls

I put a paper towel roll in Kaida's cage the other day so she could roll it around and such but so far she's just been chewing on it. I looked at it before I put it in the cage and it has what seems to be no glue on it so I'm not worried about her getting sick with the glue I just wanted to make sure the actual parer towel roll wont hurt her if she munches on it, as of right now it is out of her cage. Let me know, Thanks

Re: paper towel rolls

That's fine if she's chewing on it, I wouldn't worry about the glue. Cut a slit down the middle so your pig doesn't accidentally get stuck. = )

Re: paper towel rolls

I use toilet paper rolls because they have less glue. I *do* worry about them eating too much glue. It's one thing to be a six-year-old eating paste in school, and quite another for a piggie to be chomping on it, in my opinion.

My guys like it when I put little bits of veggies inside the rolls. At least, I think they like it since they popcorn. (I should say, though, that Sarge's popcorns are rather lackluster and really it only looks like he stood up higher...)

Alright, thanks everyone, Ya she got a bit upset when I took it away. But I went into the room 20 min ago and she was munching away on it .

Re: paper towel rolls

You could also stuff some hay inside as an extra "treat". My cavies have hay 24/7 in their hay racks, but they seem to really like too when they can "play" with it in the toilet paper roll.

Re: paper towel rolls

My piggies love to chew on toilet paper and paper towel rolls. One of the easiest and cheapest toys around for them! And my rabbit likes to toss them around when she gets one.
