Question Water Bottle Info Needed

Okay so my guinea pig didnt drink her water and i was wondering why so i changed it to nice fresh ice cold water and... Nothing
So I checked out the bottle and it was turning green... Uh oh.
I rinsed it out with soap and warm water and nothing
I typed in How to clean Guinea pigs bottle and tried everything I could which includes:
Warm water and soap.
Water and Rice?
Salt.

I DONT want to use blech or NEthing and i Cant spent alot of money on cleaners. I might use an old toothbrush but i dont really want to...
NE suggestions?

Re: Water Bottle Info Needed

You can buy bottle brushes for cheap at most places. You need to scrub it daily and rinse the cap since things build up and due to back wash.

Rice and water works fine. Salt doesn't.

Re: Water Bottle Info Needed

It might be easier just to buy a new bottle. The Water Buddy ones work wonderfully and are very easy to clean.

Also your pig may prefer room temp or cool water, not ice cold.

Re: Water Bottle Info Needed

I use filtered water for my piggies because where I live we have really hard water. I would wash it and refill it everyday with room temperature water. Also some pigs don't drink a lot of water especially if they get veggies that have just been washed. Mine don't drink much and I change it everyday regardless of how full the bottle is.

Have you tried glass water bottles? I hear those are great and you can boil them to disinfect.
