Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post?
Please help with the layout of my cages contents

I recently bought two 7 week old guinea pigs for the first time. I made a c and c cage and have included a pigloo type house (cut up washing up bowl), a rolla nest and a tunnel. I read somewhere that it is important to keep the perimeter free to allow the pigges to do laps. However by putting all these things in the middle of the cage it now seems over clutered as opposed to placing these items around the perimeter which is where I had them before.

I have two questions:
1) Do I need three hidey homes for two guinea pigs?
2) Should I keep my original layout of placing these objects around the edge or is it truly more beneficial for the piggies to have the perimeter free?

FYI I also take my piggies out daily and let them have around 3/4 hours floor time.

Thanks for any feedback
