Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
Is there any way to get my guinea pigs to drink out of a water bottle? I will be getting my new piggies tomarrow and the owner says they have been trained to drink out of a bowl. I wanted to know if I could teach them to drink out of the bottle some how since they are 3 years old. Thanks! |

Maybe you can try a bottle anyways, and see how it goes. If not, you may be stuck using a bowl. I am not sure though, but it is worth a shot! Good Luck! |

I would try a bottle for a while, snd see how it goes. If you give your piggies veggies everyday, then they are getting some water. If they don't drink out of the bottle right away (maybe a day or so) then I would put the water dish right under the spout of the water bottle (still no water in the bowl) If they still don't drink any water then I would put water in the bowl, but leave the full water bottle hanging right above it! The entire time you are doing this I would make sure their veggies are very wet when you give them to the piggies! Rinse them but don't shake all of the water out of them, so the piggies can get some water off of their veggies! Good luck! |

NPM is right, but I would also try teaching them how to use it. Put it up to their mouth and use your finger like a piggies tongue to get some water drips coming out. They might undertsnd if you do that, then offer them a drink. Try it a couple times. |
