do you think it is ok to put a coconut shell in a guinea pig cage? Does anyone have any idea? |

The answer is no. The reason is that coconut is too high in fats and it's on the do not feed list. I know you are thinking they won't eat it but pigs are curious creatures. They would probably try to eat it if it's in their cage. |

I have just the shell not the actual coconut meat. Does anyone know if that would be ok , to use in our pigs cage ? We have a Hamster that I was wondering about using the other half of the shell in his cage if anyone has any idea about that to! |

Well when I got my first hamster I hung half a coconut shell from the room, put a bit of bedding in it and he LOVED it! He would sleep in it all day on his back, then get up eat drink get in his wheel for about 3 hours then get off and go back to sleep! I don't know about piggies though. |

OK --- For the record I thought you were thinking I was going to put the shell in it with the meat of the coconut. I will not ask again. |
