Can I just go off-topic for a second and ask where abouts you got your new friend from? Are they in separate cages? |

pigsforlife - silkie which is the new friend was from a family that didnt want her anymore. They were kept in different rooms. Only thing is this weekend I noticed that she was loosing weight so took her to the vet straight away and was told that she was born with bad back teeth and it will forever be a problem which will cause her to have other problems later in her life.. so basically the vet was stating that she will be in pain forever.. it shocked me and my husband.. so sad.. so at the moment I'm deciding what to do.. |

Dont give up. Not yet. Her back teeth can most likely be fixed. It doesnt sound like you have a very knowledgeable vet, so I suggest you have a look through GLs vet list - Guinea Lynx :: GL's Vet List - and see if you can find a cavvy savvy vet. Another option is to post here with what state you are in and either North, South, East or West. Please also join up to the forum on GL and ask them for opinions. They are very very very knowledgeable. Finally is she eating? If she isnt eating then you need to start handfeeding her asap. For info on that see this site Guinea Lynx :: Hand Feeding |
