I found this mini wicker basket for one dollar at target and thought if I turned it on its side it could be a hidey-house--but will it hurt the pigs if they chew on it? Is there any way to know? thanks. |

I wondered the same thing. Found one at dollar tree and was going to use it for hay. But, I did not use it because I was not sure it would be safe. Would love to hear what others think. Val |

I wouldn't use wicker baskets for a few reasons. Firstly wicker baskets could be made from several different stems - from rattan to willow to bamboo. All have sharp edges if broken. I wouldn't like to say any are safe if a guinea were to take a nibble, would are nigh on impossible to clean and keep germ/bacteria/mould free due to the weave. |
