I've seen them too... it looks like it would be hard to get the hay out of though. *scratches head* |

i know - the openings seem awfully small. unless the idea is to spin the wheel until the hay comes loose and falls out. *scratches head.............really hard* |

It is kind of odd. I think it would make my pigs mad if everytime they went to get hay the thing spun before they could get more than a mouthfull. If anyone uses them please tell us how well they work. |

I don't like them. People who like to have things tidy buy those. I just toss the hay everywhere so they can lie/sleep/hide/play in it. |

ya Ive found furby is getting confused on how she is supposed to get her hay out of a hayrack I bought her, it intrested her for awhile then she got bored with it and started eating from the very top of it hehe, so now I give her some hay in the corner or in a bowl too and moved the hayrack up a bar so now she is deciding how shes ganna get to it without actually using the logical way .I think this is sort of a dumb idea, my pig just perfers it off the floor as opposed to in a regular hayrack, I doubt she would be happy with one of these. Furby actually found one of those kabobs with the bells on the end fun, it was supprising her every time she went to eat something off it, so she started sneaking up on it and trying to rip things off and run away and eat them. She didnt enjoy it very much but it certainly gave her something to try to "outsmart" for about a week . Pigs are soo goofy! |

When I got my pigs I put hay in a hack rack and some on the floor. They'd never touch the hay rack hay but the floor hay would be gobbled up in minutes. So now I've put a fleece blanket over the rack to make a little hidey hole. |

Just this morning my furby figured out another way to get into the hay rack, the sides. She sits there with a puzzled look when all the hay is now in the middle... Shes so fun to watch, ya I wouldnt reccomend wasting your money on these things, if you want a rack type thing you can always bend a grid and see if that works. |

, o shes got hay elsewhere too, she eats it, then runs up to the hayrack. Hehe she's a smart little , Im supprised she hasnt figured out she can eat it from the front, or maybe shes just a little bit lazy... either way its a hoot to watch. she flops down looking completly stumped on how she is supposed to get to it, then she just looks at me with her little eyes like "hey dont make me just watch this stuff." I waited awhile to see if she figures it out, I think she managed one piece of hay from the front and started searching for anyther way and found the sides, this worked for awhile . Then she started cheating by proping herself up and eating straight from the top, hehe funny funny. I now leave her hay around the cage. And I bring in her rack every once in awhile full of hay and a little alfalfa to make it worth the her time, and put the rack just a little higher up so she cant reach the top. Shes alot more fit from it too , it sounds funny, but she moves her things over by the hayrack and begins to solve the problem of not being able to access the top of the rack, shes got alot more muscle and is no fatty anymore, Im impressed, shows what a pig will do for its food. |

just a note- shes got regular timothy hay elsewhere, she just likes to go for the yummy stuff when I offer it (hay with a lil alfalfa mixed in), but she has to get it from the hayrack |

I've heard that young cavies can get inside if they really want their hay. I believe I heard someone talking about this somewhere else. The poor thing got its head stuck! I also think it would bee too hard to get the hay out. |
