LOUD water bottle

Ok, I just brought furby up to my room in her old cage to spend the night so im prepared for when he lives in the c&c in my room.... But one of her favorite past times is playing with the water bottle. At the moment she has a larger 20oz oasis because we bought it for when we have to go do something for a day away. ITS SOOOOO LOUD. Drove me insane. For awhile she was eating hay then drinking then eating hay... But then she was just pounding on the little double balls on the water bottle constantly. Here are my options as I see it-

1. Stay with current cage in family room downstairs and not build C&C
2. Make some sort of set up so she spends just the nites in another room, which would be much more complicated for me
3 Find a wayyy more quiet water bottle

Any suggestions?

Re: LOUD water bottle

How big is the current cage? If its smaller than a 2x3 c&c cage, then please leave it. I have an insanely loud water bottle as well. However, once I'm asleep (they are in my room) I don't notice it. 2 weeks ago I couldn't sleep because of all the noise they made. I put them in another room at night. Like you said, it was so much hassle for me. I put them back in my room for the nights, and now I can sleep like a log. I don't even notice them chewing or eating. I suggest build the c&c cage, put it in your room and in a few days you won't even notice they're there.

Re: LOUD water bottle

You could try a water bowl for at night. It would have to be a heavy ceramic bowl, so the piggie can't knock it over. my rabbit loves drinking out of his bowl. You could "test" it for a few nights and see how it goes. Or you could keep his cage in the living room and use it as a night cage.

Re: LOUD water bottle

Im not sure, I think she would just make a mess of water in a bowl. Thanks you guys, I donno, I already have a hard time getting to sleep, I really dont mind her walking around and eating but that water bottle.... I hope I get used to it but i donno, Its sort of like a creaky hamster wheel, its just plain annoying.

Re: LOUD water bottle

After a few hours I ended up dragging her cage out to the kitchen in the middle of the night

Does anyone know any particular size/type of waterbottle that I could maybe just use at night?

Re: LOUD water bottle

Aw, sorry about that. Then why not try the water bowl. See if she poops or makes a mess. If not, then make it permanant for the night. I think all water bottles are loud.

Re: LOUD water bottle

Maybe you shouldn't keep her in your room, then. Just keep her somewhere else, and sleep! =)

Re: LOUD water bottle

im confused, is the water bottle loud because she pounds on it? if thats the reason, get a water bottle that fastens to the outside of the cage. thats what i have.

Re: LOUD water bottle

If she keeps her somewhere else, then she won't be able to build a c&c cage

Re: LOUD water bottle

I use that type of water bottle that is clear/blue with the floating duck in it. To me it is very quiet.

Re: LOUD water bottle

CC likes to chug on his water bottle and make a lot of noise. Smore doesn't make a sound when he drinks. They are so oppisites.
