Judy, Now I get it! BNIT-That's just way too cute. I prefer buttkisser to brownnoser but you can have that title.

I think trolls will dwindle off here once school starts up again and they have more stuff to do. At least, that's the fantasy I'm living in.

I don't suck up, I just speak the truth. I just like to let the mods know what a wonderful job they do on here and how much I'm in awe of them. That's all. No brown nosing here. Nope! None at all!

Salana - woohoo! Linguistics! I'm an undergrad Linguistics major at TWU here in BC and like the geek that I am I get super psyched about people who find this area exciting! I went to college for a couple of years out of high school but didn't want to go back to school until I figured out what I *actually* wanted to study and as soon as I realized what an awesome and intruiging field it is I started back at university at 23 years old. 5 years later I'm pretty close to finishing (that's what happens when you work full time and go to school - it takes FOREVER!), but loving every minute of it... what's your favourite area? I'm a phonology dork. Love it love it love it. Wish I could spend my days working with students on it. <sigh> Stupid mortgage. Anyways - that's my rambling tantrum!

So far we like it too. It's easy, fast and helps keep tabs on who's doing what.

I can't say that some of the members are as happy but this new system will hopefully keep some of the ugliness off the boards.

Hey Lydia, I just saw your post. I, too, am interested mostly in phonology. I also like historical linguistics.

I'm a grad student in speech-language pathology and work as a speech therapist at an elementary school and early intervention center. One of my favorite text books I've ever had to read was a linguistics book I think was called Patterns of Language by Robert Berling. Fascinating read. What are you both doing/planning to do with your degrees in linguistics?

Exactly. It's sooo juicy that I just recently told the gang I think I need to purge most of it on the very unlikely and remote chance of getting hacked. Yikes!
